Latin Jazz Vocalist&Composer
On 09/15/15, aboard the USS Iowa in Los Angeles, CA, Lucho&Friends Latin Jazz Ensemble was honored to open musically for then Presidential Candidate Donald J. Trump featuring an original adaptation of his slogan "Make America Great Again" as a theme song. Later, Mr. Trump made history by becoming the 45th President of the United States !... As a baritone, Lucho had the privilege to sing at The Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic as well as choir back up for a Celine Dion CBS Special. Prefacing his career as a Latin Jazz Vocalist&Composer, he began his artistry at the early age of four years old in Lima, Peru. His influences started with traditional Peruvian music followed by the sounds of modern American Pop culture. As a result of his talents, he received full and partial college scholarships to continue his music studies in the United States at institutions of higher education in Florida and Nevada. Lucho’s expertise has allowed him to record with renowned bassist Abraham Laboriel Sr., reed player Justo Almario, guitarist Ramon Stagnaro, pianists Octavio Figueroa and Freddie Ravel, trumpeter Jon Papenbrook, trombonist Eric Jorgensen, drummers Walfredo Reyes Jr. and Bernie Dresel and a few others. His love for music has oriented him to focus his professional efforts in Jazz, Latin Jazz along with Art Singing and Oratorio music, genres that are much appealing to his vocal tessitura.
